Dive Shop: Go Sea Tours
Dive Instructor: Benji
We will return to dive with Go Sea whenever we are in Placencia. Benji was very patient and thorough with Tim’s training. The lunches are yummy, and on this day, they grilled the chicken fresh on the island.
North Wall
This was Tim’s 3rd open water dive for certification. While he and his instructor, Benji, were completing some skills the remora would not leave me alone. I really didn’t enjoy them much. They were about 3′ long. There were so many Creole Wrasses at North Wall that day. Plus the Moray Eel was pretty great along with several groupers.

White Hole
This was Tim’s final checkout dive. We had a lot of nurse sharks with us throughout the dive, including a rather large one. The sharks seemed to know Benji and kept coming to him for pets. We weren’t hunting lionfish, much to the sharks dismay. We found one good sized lionfish and pointed it out to the sharks. They were all under the coral head trying to get it as the lionfish easily swam away. You can see them all together towards the end of the photos. What we learned that day is nurse sharks aren’t very smart.

Shark Ray Alley
Every trip we’ve had out to the Silk Cayes includes a stop off at Shark-Ray Alley. This is an area where local fisherman have been cleaning their catch and the local nurse sharks, rays, and a couple turtles know it. This loggerhead turtle was a good 4′ long.
